Auditons

Auditions for next year’s competition team are Saturday May 8th!  All dancers age 4+ are invited to audition for a team.  You can find all the information you need about auditions, including the combo you should learn in advance here.

This audition is for Sandy students only.  Bluffdale students interested in being on a competition team should email us at info@danceconceptsutah.com

Summer

Our summer schedule is out and bigger than ever!  We’ve expanded our summer session from 4 week to 6 and have some fantastic new offerings.

Check out our Dance Arts class where dancers get a dance class AND get to do a fun craft each week.

I’m personally most excited about dropping into our Dance Sampler class this summer where we’ll be learning a new combo each class.  It’s so much fun to step into a style and a vibe for just an hour and then leave it behind for a new one next week!

Also, if you wanted our Monday morning Hip Hop with Miss Blakelee and didn’t get registered before it was full, we were able to add in another class.  We now have another Hip Hop class for ages 5-10 with space available!  (Mondays, 11:30 in Sandy)

To register, you can use your Parent Portal, or we’re happy to help you at the front desk.

Picture Days

Picture Days are May 11, 12, and 13.  All pictures will be taken at the Sandy location this year. (9492 S Union Square)  Your note that came with your costume has details about your picture time in it.  We do NOT have classes on picture days.

Pictures must be pre-ordered.  If you’ve done pictures with us before, you can jump straight to the order form here.

If you’ve never worked with our photographer before, you can learn more about them here.

You can find more info about picture day here.

Recital

Dancers will be bringing their recital costumes home over the next week.  Inside each costume is an important note that has all of the specific details for your class from when your picture time is, to what color of shoes to wear to the recital.  Make sure you pull that note out sooner rather than later!

Your costume will also include a pair of tights if your class is wearing tights in the recital.  We’re happy to exchange unopened tights for a different size so check the size chart on the back.

Recital is being held May 22nd at the Sandra Lloyd auditorium in Riverton.  We have more details, including the show order on our blog.  Dancers should arrive, wearing their costume 15 minutes before the show begins.  Each show will be 30-45 minutes.  Please plan on staying until the end of your show.

Tickets are required for this show.  They are available for $5 at the front desk now through May 20th.  Dancers do not need a ticket for their own show, but all family members do.  We are still working with some COVID limitations, so each dancer can purchase up to 4 tickets.  We know you’d love more, and so would we, but we’re thrilled to get to have an audience this big and an actual stage for the first time in over a year!  Since we will be a gathering of more than 50 people (yay!) masks will be required but dancers will be able to remove theirs before going on stage.  Children under 2 do not need a ticket, but must be held in lap.  We do not expect to have any empty seats.

We DO have classes the week after recital!

That’s it for now!  Our 2021-2022 schedule will be coming out this month.  Keep an eye out for it.  Now go pre-register for picture day!
