StepUp was AMAZING! We had so many first time competitors, and first time soloists. They all handled the pressures of the day with grace.
This was a one day competitions so all of our soloists and groups took place on Saturday. It’s a big day for some of our dancers who have as many as six dances!
We started the morning with solos. Eleven of these dancers are doing a solo for the first time this year! There were lots of nerves back stage but everyone pulled it together and put on a great performance.

On to groups! Our dancers and families were amazing. On time, helpful, well prepared and fun to spend the day with!
Right before Fly A Kite went on stage Katherine got a severe bloody nose. Blood all over her costume, shoes and tights. We held their dance for 10 minutes while Katherine got the bleeding to stop. She was worried about going on stage with blood stains, and understandably upset from the whole thing, but she pulled herself together and bravely went on. They ended up winning an award for best costume despite a bit of blood.
