The Winter Recital is ALMOST here! We are so excited to share with family and friends all the exciting dances & techniques your dancers have been working on in class. Can’t wait to see you all there!
Winter Recital!
Winter recital is December 20th at Hillcrest Junior High at 2:00pm. Because it’s a middle school, parking is quite limited. Please plan a few extra minutes to park and make you way to the school and consider leaving up front parking for people who need it most.
TICKETS:
Recital Tickets are available now! All audience members over the age of 2 need a ticket – dancers performing in the show do not. Tickets will be $10 at the door, or you can buy discounted tickets for $7 at the front desk through December 18th.
THE DAY OF THE SHOW:
Dancers should report backstage at 1:30pm with their hair & makeup done, with the proper shoes & tights/socks (if applicable) according to the paper they will receive class. If you’re missing yours, we would be glad to print or email you another copy, just let us know! When they arrive in their dressing room, they’ll receive their costume, change clothes, and then remain backstage with our teachers and their class for the remainder of the show. We’ll practice our dances, do some coloring, and watch the other classes do their dances as we wait for our time on stage!
After the show, send a parent back to the dressing room to help your dancer change and join your family and friends. We strongly encourage only one parent, guardian or family member drop off/pick up dancers backstage if possible.
Please make sure you turn your costume back in before you leave. Most of our costumes can’t be replaced so losing one of a set is a big deal.
Finally, go out for a treat and celebrate your big day! Getting up on stage in front of hundreds of people is a big deal and we want our dancers to know how proud we are of them and their efforts.

Wear Your Holiday Dance Wear!
Dancers are invited to wear their favorite festive dance wear and accessories to class December 15-18th You still need to be dressed appropriately for class, but this is the time to break out those candy cane tights, sparkly bow and show your Christmas cheer!
Word of the Month
Our word of the month is Passion. When we approach what we do with passion, we move more quickly toward our goals and have more fun along the way!

Student of the Month
Our student of the month is Ruth Wheeler! Here’s what Miss Blakelee had to say about Ruth:
I nominated Ruth for student of the month because I’ve been so impressed with her retention of new skills and determination. Ruth is the youngest student in our tap class by several years, but she doesn’t let being the youngest intimidate her. She is also the least experienced tapper, but is always willing to try new things. Right now she is dancing three levels above the appropriate level and it’s phenomenal! She never gives up and always comes to class with a smile on her face. IM SO BLOWN AWAY BY YOU, RUTH!”
