December Newsletter 2024

It’s just a few days away!  Our Home Alone themed recital is December 7th at 2:00.

Winter Recital!

Winter recital is December 7th at Hillcrest Junior High.  Because it’s a middle school, parking is quite limited.  Please plan a few extra minutes to park and make you way to the school and consider leaving up front parking for people who need it most.

Dancers should report backstage with the hair and makeup done according to the paper they received in class.  If you’re missing yours, we would be glad to print or email you another copy.  When they arrive in their dressing room, they’ll receive their costume, change clothes, and then remain backstage with their class for the remainder of the show.  We’ll practice our dance, do some coloring, and watch the other classes do their dances as we wait for our time on stage.

Flowers will be for sale at the show.  Bouquets are available for $5, $12, and $20.

Our show will be about an hour and 15 minutes.  Afterward, send a parent back to the dressing room to help your dancer change and join your family and friends.

Please make sure you turn your costume back in before you leave .  Most of our costumes can’t be replaced so losing one of a set is a big deal.

Finally, go out for a treat and celebrate your big day!  Getting up on stage in front of hundreds of people is a big deal and we want our dancers to know how proud we are of them and their efforts.

Wear Your Holiday Dance Wear!

Dancers are invited to wear their favorite festive dance wear and accessories to class December 16-20th  You still need to be dressed appropriately for class, but this is the time to break out those elf themed tights, wrap some tinsel around your bun and show your Christmas cheer.

TNT and Conditioning

Come put in some work over Christmas Break!  See your friends and give your body some love.

Dynamic Conditioning will be just what you expect.  We’ll be working hard to become stronger dancers, improve our alignment, and set ourselves up for success.

Word of the Month

Our word of the month is Believe and this month we’re encouraging our dancers to believe in themselves.  Belief in ourselves is the first step toward achieving anything.  Without a belief in ourselves, it gets hard to take any action.

“Believe in yourself. You are braver than you think, more talented than you know, and capable of more than you imagine.” – Roy T Bennett

Stockings

Help us fill a stocking for your favorite dance teacher!  Christmas stockings will be up in the studio this month.  Feel free to add to your teacher’s.  You’re welcome to drop a note, Christmas card or small gift inside.  If you do leave something, be sure to put your name on it so we know who it’s from.
