Competition Teams
Welcome to our 2025 Competition Dance Teams!
Below, you’ll find your team requirements. We’ve tried to make it as clear as possible, but if it’s your first year on the team, it’s likely you’ll still have questions. We’re happy to help you design your schedule. Email us if you’d like some assistance.
Mini Team
Dancers on this team are required to take a minimum of 3 hours of class a week. This includes two days where dancers will take 90 minutes of class each day. Each day will include 45 minutes of learning and practicing a dance they will compete and perform, and 45 minutes of working on technique and fundamentals so we can become better dancers.
- Tue 4:45-6:15
- Wed 4:45-6:15
This schedule includes 2 performance classes (a jazz dance and a tap dance). If you would like to also add a Hip Hop or Ballet dance, email us and we can talk about if that would be a good fit for your dancer and what the schedule would look like.
Dress Code
Tuesdays: Tuesdays include our ballet technique day so we need to be dressed for ballet. Dancers should wear light pink tights, light pink ballet shoes and have their hair in a bun. You may choose your leotard color. You should also bring your Jazz shoes for the choreography portion of class.
Wednesdays: All dancers need to be in tight fitting dance clothes. Skin tight. This could include leotards, leggings, spandex shorts and/or sports bras. No t-shirts or loose fitting tank tops. Wear tan jazz shoes. Your hair needs to be neatly up in a bun, ponytail or braid. You’ll need tan jazz shoes for jazz and black lace up tap shoes for tap. If you have other tap shoes, you can wear them for class, but you’ll need black lace up for competition. Please plan to buy your jazz shoes and tap shoes from Dance Concepts so they all match when we are on stage.
Prodigy Team
Dancers on this team are required to take a minimum of 4 hours of class a week. Our recommended schedule for this team is:
- Mon 4:30-5:30 Jazz Technique (Required)
- Mon 5:30-6:30 Jazz Choreography
- Wed 4:30-5:30 Demi Co.
- Wed 5:30-6:30 Freshman Crew
- Thurs 5:30-6:30 Contemporary
- Thurs 6:30-7:30 Ballet Technique (Required)
This recommended schedule includes 4 performance classes (Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Ballet). You can remove any of these as long as you keep up your minimum of 4 hours/week and take your two required technique classes. Technique are where we work on building strong fundamentals as dancers so we can have higher kicks, better leaps and more turns.
Dress Code
Monday: All dancers need to be in tight fitting dance clothes. Skin tight. This could include leotards, leggings, spandex shorts and/or sports bras. No t-shirts or loose fitting tank tops. Your hair needs to be neatly up in a bun, ponytail or braid. Wear your tan jazz shoes. Next time you need to buy jazz shoes, please purchase them from Dance Concepts so all of our shoes match when we are on stage.
Wednesday: All dancers on Demi Ballet Company need to be in a leotard, light pink tights, light pink ballet shoes and have your hair in a bun. You may choose your leotard color. If you are also on Freshman Crew, please bring hip hop clothing you can wear over top of your ballet clothing so you don’t have to go to the bathroom to change. All dancers on Freshman Crew need to be in sneakers. You can be in somewhat looser clothing for hip hop, but you still want to be able to see (and let your teacher see) what your body is doing.
Thursday: Since you will have a required ballet technique class, all dancers need to be in a leotard, light pink tights, light pink ballet shoes and have your hair in a bun. You may choose your leotard color. We will discuss shoes for Contemporary in September. For now, plan to take that class in bare feet (make sure you have convertible tights if this is your plan) or wear your jazz shoes.
Junior Elite

Dress Code
Ballet: All dancers need need to be in a leotard, light pink tights, light pink ballet shoes and have your hair in a bun. You may choose your leotard color.

You still need to be in tight fitting (skin tight) dance wear and have your hair up. No loose fitting t-shirts or tank tops. Half sole shoes.
Hip Hop: You can be in somewhat looser clothing for hip hop, but you still want to be able to see (and let your teacher see) what your body is doing. Hair needs to be up. All dancers need to be in sneakers.
Teen Elite
Dancers on this team are required to take a minimum of 5.5 hours of class a week. New for Teen and Senior Elite this year is our Creative Combos class. In this 30 minute class we’ll practice putting technique elements together, adding more style to our dancing, and learning choreography quickly. We’re excited about how this will help you progress as dancers – and we also think you’ll really love it! If you are in Principal Co, Creative Combos creates a schedule conflict for you. You’re excused from the Creative Combos requirement, or you can opt to join Sr Elite’s Creative Combos class on Mondays.
