BRING A FRIEND TO DANCE WEEK MAY 8-11 May 8th-11th you’re invited to bring a friend to dance class with you.  It’s free for both you and your friend.  We’ll do some fun partner activities in class and show our friends the recital dances we’ve been working on.

We just finished up our last competition of the season and it was a big one!  Gotta Move spanned three days with up to three stages running simultaneously.  We kicked off the competition with most of our solos on Thursday. 

Hillcrest High School invited us to perform in their drill team showcase, so last night levels 4 and 5 got to do a bonus performance.  We took In This Shirt, Wicked Games, and History Repeating.  We all spent an hour in a technique class together, ran a quick rehearsal and then loaded up to go

They say it takes a village to raise a child, and this past weekend, we were a beautiful village.  I saw some amazing dancing, but today, I’m proud of our team for another reason.  We took care of each other in a way that makes me so happy to be part of this DC family.

We kicked off our 2017 competition season this weekend at the Releve Saratoga Springs competition.  Friday night was for soloists and we brought a handful of first timers as well as our veteran soloists who have been at this for years.  A number of our dancers received high overall awards including:

Kalli Parkin has been cartwheeling through this world since the age of 2.  She started competing in dance at 7 years old.  She was able to learn many styles from countless choreographers and teachers.  Jazz, tap and tumbling were always her strongest and favorite classes.  Kalli also trained and competed in gymnastics at several gyms
