Last week our dancers rocked their Halloween costumes!  Check out the photos below to see some of our favorite witches, princesses and characters.  There are more pictures on our Facebook Page too!

Check out our new DC warm ups! They will have the words “DANCE CONCEPTS” and our logo on the back in large foil letters. Dancers can also have their names embroidered on the front.

Last weekend Julie Edison and I ran our first full marathon.  Just over twenty six miles through the redwoods of northern California.  It was a huge challenge for both of us, both physically and mentally, but we fought through and finished, it part because of things we learned growing up as dancers.

Congratulations to Paradi and Blake on getting their first pair of pointe shoes!  If you see them around the studio give them a big hug and wish them well. “When can I get pointe shoes?” It’s a question every ballet dancer starts to ask and is something that deserves a good amount of attention.  Because

Yesterday Dance Concepts hosted Celtic Waters Productions for their filming of The Next Dance.  Seven of our dancers from levels 4 and 5 will be featured in their upcoming film.  Everyone had a great time during the filming and we can’t wait to see the final product.  Check out the photos from the filming below.

This Thursday at Dance Concepts we’ll be making foot boards.  These are boards to help you stretch your feet at home and develop the beautiful point that all great dancers have.  You can use one at home to become a better dancer while you’re reading or watching TV. Last night was fantastic!  We’re so proud of all of our dancers who performed in the recital.  Each of them has grown so much this year:  from our little ones who have learned not only the basics of dance, but also how to act in a classroom and listen to their teachers, to our advanced

Here’s the schedule for our dress rehearsal.  Dress rehearsal is June 8th at Murray High School.  Please wear your costume to the school and come with your hair and makeup complete.  If you are in more than one dance, when you arrive you should place your costumes in a dressing room and then go sit
