Wear Your Halloween Costume to Dance

Dancers are invited to wear their Halloween costumes to dance October 24-30th.  We’ll have some Halloween themed elements to classes that week, but we are still dancing so make sure you bring your shoes.  You might also want dance clothes underneath in case your costume is restrictive or overly warm and you don’t want it for the whole class. 

TNT

Our next TNT is October 12th!  Dancer’s will spend an hour improving their improv – a skill you’ll likely need when you go to auditions. Then you’ll also get an hour of focused work on turn technique.  Register in your Parent Portal under “Events.”

Order your DC Warmup Jacket

Temperatures are cooling and we’ll all be breaking out our DC jackets!  Match your friends and show your DC pride.  Order your jacket at the front desk.  You can get yours with our without a custom bow on the logo (you choose the color!).

Jackets are $55.  You can also have your name added to the front for $10.  

We have sample sizes at the front desk – just stop by and ask to try one on. 

Fundraiser

Interested in offsetting the cost of tuition or costumes?  Our annual fundraiser is going on now.  Order foms are available at the front desk.  All dancers are invited to participate. 

Word of the Month

Our word of the month for October is Optimism.  Optimists live longer and have more success in all aspects of their lives!  Bring your optimism to dance and watch your classes become more fun and your skill advance faster!

Nexus

This last month a handful of our dancers from our Junior and Senior Teams went to the Nexus Dance Convention at the Mountain America Expo Center.  Many of our dancers made it to round 2 of auditions and Ila Hyde walked away with a scholarship to come back next year!  You can read more their experience on the here.

Competition Team News

It was great to see everyone in our team meetings last month!  We still have our team meeting for our All Abilities team October 7th at 7:30

Competition dates are now finalized.  In some of the meetings we still had a question mark but that has been settled and the dates that went out in your folder are correct.

Make sure to get your competition contracts, t shirt order forms and warm up jacket orders in this month.
