Competition Dance Teams

Welcome to our 2026 Competition Dance Teams!

Below, you’ll find your team requirements.  We’ve tried to make it as clear as possible, but if it’s your first year on the team, it’s likely you’ll still have questions.  We’re happy to help you design your schedule.  Email us if you’d like some assistance.

Mini Team

Dancers on this team are required to take a minimum of 2.75 hours of class a week.  This year, to give you a little more control over your schedule you’ll need to take the Mini Team classes on Tuesdays at 5:30 and 6:15.  We’ll learn our two competition dances in these classes.  For your second day, you can take your choice of any Rising Stars Class.

  • Mini Team Tue 5:30-6:15 & 6:15-7:00 (required)
  • Rising Stars (choose one) Mon 6:00 or Wed 4:30

This schedule includes 2 competition classes.

Dress Code

Mini Team Class: All dancers need to be in tight fitting dance clothes. Skin tight.  This could include leotards, leggings, spandex shorts and/or sports bras.  No t-shirts or loose fitting tank tops. Wear tan jazz shoes. Your hair needs to be neatly up in a bun, ponytail or braid.  Please plan to buy your jazz shoes and tap shoes from Dance Concepts so they all match when we are on stage.

Rising Stars: For Rising Stars dancers wear pink leotards and light pink ballet tights.  Attached skirts or tutus are ok.  You’ll need your ballet and jazz shoes.  Hair should be up neatly in a bun, ponytail or braid.

Prodigy Team

Dress Code

Dancers on this team are required to take a minimum of 3.5 hours of class a week.   Our recommended schedule for this team is:

  • Tue 4:30-5:30 Ballet Technique (Required)
  • Tue 5:30-6:15 Jazz Choreography
  • Tue 6:15-7:00 Choreography (Style TBD)
  • Thur 5:30-6:30 Jazz Technique (Required)
  • Thurs 6:30-7:30 Freshman Crew

We’ve made some changes to what Prodigy is doing this year to get their classes down to just two days a week and keep them excited about dance as the year goes on!  Because of this their second choreography class on Tuesdays is still in the works.  We’ll do something in the neighborhood of lyrical/ballet/contemporary.

Tuesday: Tuesday is the day we have ballet so all dancers should be in a leotard, light pink tights, light pink ballet shoes and have their hair in a bun.  You may choose your leotard color.  You’ll also need tan jazz shoes.  Please purchase your jazz shoes from the front desk so our whole team matches.  You may bring a pair of spandex shorts to put on over your leotard for jazz if you like.

Thursday: For technique you’ll need to be in tight fitting dance clothes. Skin tight. This could include leotards, leggings, spandex shorts and/or sports bras.  No t-shirts or loose fitting tank tops. Wear tan jazz shoes. Your hair needs to be neatly up in a bun, ponytail or braid.  If you are also on Freshman Crew, you can wear the same outfit, but bring sneakers for that class.
