Petite Performers is a great choice for a 5 year old who’s never been in a dance class before. This hour long class includes both ballet and tap. We start out in our ballet shoes, warm up, and do some stretches. Then it’s up for traditional ballet exercises (keeping young attention spans in mind). We’ll work on plies, tendus, sautes, pase, piques, developed and more! Your dancer will develop both creativity and strength as we hop like frogs and gallop like horses.
Next we’ll change into our tap shoes. In tap our focus shifts to rhythms, counting and learning patterns. Plus, it’s so much fun to get to make noise with our feet. Class ends with a few minutes of creative free dance a final bow. Petite Performers are invited to perform in our two annual recitals!
They’ll learn a tap dance for one show and a ballet dance for the other. Our Petite Performers love getting dressed up in their costumes to perform on stage with their friends.

Five Year Old Dance Classes
We also offer Hip Hop for 5 year old dancers. Hip Hop is a great choice for dancers who enjoy putting a little more of their own style into their dancing. It's also our most popular choice for boys! Our Hip Hop classes are high energy and will keep your dancer moving and grooving. If your dancer loves to turn on the radio at home and freestyle she/he will love our Hip Hop class.
Hip Hop dancers are also invited to perform in our two annual recitals. We love seeing their style and attitude come out on stage!

Five year olds also do great in our Tumbling class. We generally recommend tumbling as an add-on to either a Petite Performers or a Hip Hop class, but it can be taken alone. Tumblers start with a warm up to get their blood pumping and muscles ready to go. They will then spend some time on strength and flexibility exercises. After that, we get to start working on tricks! We'll work on backbends, handstands, cartwheels, a variety of forward rolls and that's just the beginning. Tumblers get to progress at their own speed, so once your child has mastered one skill, they can start on the next without waiting for the rest of the class.
Tumbling classes do not perform in our recitals. For this reason we recommend taking a different, dance based class in addition to your tumbling class.
