November News

Happy November!  For as rough as this year has been, I’m feeling really thankful for the little, beautiful things.  I was watching as a class let out this week, the way the dancers walked out with their friends. There was excited chatter, some improvised dance moves, and one playful kick in the bum.  I almost cried at how normal it was.  Yes, we were all in masks, but the connection was there, the friendship was there, the joy was there.  I’m so, so grateful to all of you for bringing it into my life.

Here’s what’s up this month:

New Dance Bags!

Making your Christmas list?  We have new dance bags available!  They comes in pink or black and there is a black option without the bow.  They are available at the front desk for $22.  Quantities are limited so grab one soon to ensure the color of your choice!

Fundraiser

Fundraiser order pickup is Monday, November 9th 5:00-8:00pm.  If you sold Butter Braid you MUST pick them up this day.  They have to stay frozen and we don’t have a freezer at the studio.

Our top seller was the Jensen family who made over $300 profit!  Way to go!

Thanksgiving Break

We will be closed for Thanksgiving break November 23-27.

Competition Team

The first half of your competition fees is due November 12th.  We’ll be placing costume orders soon!  If you’re doing a solo make sure you’ve talked about your costume with your choreographer.

Winter Recital

Our winter recital is December 19th.  Because of gathering size restrictions, we’ll again be holding it at our Bluffdale studio.  We’ll hold a series of mini performances that will be just 15-20 minutes long.  Over the next two weeks we’ll get you your classes exact time plus the details you’ll need to know.

Winter Break

We’ll be closed for winter break December 20th through January 2nd.

Flexibility Goal Buttons!

I am SO excited to be debuting our three flexibility goal buttons.  We set them up so that they should be something for each of our dancers to be working toward.  Flexibility is a big deal for a dancer and you really have to work on this at home to be your best.

To earn your buttons you must be able to:

  • Button One: in a standing pike stretch, place your hands flat on the ground and hold for 10 seconds
  • Button Two: have flat splits – both left and right
  • Button Three: be able to split with a 6 inch rise in front (super splits or over splits ) – both left and right

We’ll start passing out buttons next week, so start stretching at home today!  This program is primarily geared towards our dancers ages 6 and up, but anyone who wants to stretch at home can participate.
